This period home with stunning stained glass double entrance doors, sits high on the hill with breathtaking city views. The garden, before its transformation, was uninteresting, neglected and consisted mostly of tired looking turf and dilapidated stairs.

The client, a passionate garden lover was eager to transform the space into an area full of trees and plants but was not sure how to go about it.

She engaged the Garden Tarts to come up with concepts about how best to utilise the space.  A stately bluestone random paved platform became the feature, leading to the front door. Bluestone steps and random pavers surrounded by decorative pebbles softened the overall look.

Deciduous trees offering magnificent autumn leaf colour and soft pink blossom in the spring are the dominant features in the garden.  Sarcocca, Berberis, Convolvulus, Heuchera, Rhapiolepsis, Hydrangea and buxus balls creates a lush and contrasting understory. Geranium rozanne and salvias adds pops of purple colour creating further interest and textural diversity.
